Key Responsibilities
Conduct examinations and write prescriptions under physician supervision
Collaborate with physicians to manage patient medical needs
Obtain health history and assess patient status
Order and perform laboratory diagnostic tests
Treat illnesses and provide therapies
Counsel patients and families on preventive health care
Participate in peer reviews and continuing education
Required Qualifications
License and active registration as a physician assistant or registered nurse/nurse practitioner in New York State
Bachelor's or equivalent degree in physician assistant studies or equivalent for nurse practitioners
Current certification by relevant certifying bodies (e.g., NCCPA for PAs, AANPCB or ANCC for NPs)
At least one year of experience as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner in ambulatory health care
Current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
At least three years of professional nursing experience in an ambulatory setting for Nurse Practitioners
