Key Responsibilities

  • Provide health and wellness opportunities for Army Soldiers, retirees, and their families
  • Establish and direct physical medicine and rehabilitation programs
  • Train and mentor other medical personnel
  • Lead Force Health Protection efforts
  • Assess, mitigate, and communicate health threats
  • Direct and oversee public health core functions: assessment, policy development, and assurance

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy
  • Completion of at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship
  • Completion of a training program in preventive medicine
  • Permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates (for foreign graduates)
