Travel RN – Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)

Location: Near Concord, NC
Shift: 12-Hour Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours/week

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse (CVICU RN) to join a high-acuity team at a leading teaching hospital near Concord, NC. This facility is nationally recognized for its comprehensive heart care, stroke excellence, and advanced surgical programs.

Facility Highlights

• 457 licensed beds
• Level III Trauma Center
• Teaching Hospital
• Chest Pain & Stroke Centers of Excellence

Unit Details

• 14 private rooms, including 2 negative pressure rooms
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Critical Care
• First-Time Travelers: Not preferred, but considered

Patient Population

• STEMI (unstable), cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, thoracic surgery
• CT Surgery cases: CABG, valve, aortic dissection

Ratios

• RN: 1:2

Certifications Required

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Key Skills

• Management of vasoactive drips & surgical drains
• Chest tubes & ventilator management
• CRRT
• Invasive lines: arterial lines, PA catheters, transvenous pacemakers
• Advanced devices: IABP, Impella

Department Support

• Charge nurse (may or may not carry a patient load)
• IV/VAT team available
• RT support 24/7
• Unit-based intensivist coverage 24/7

Technology

• EMR: Epic
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Omnicell med dispensing
• Phillips monitors

Floating

• Must be willing to float within Region 1 (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH Peds as needed)
• Paid for time spent traveling between facilities mid-shift
