Responsibilities

Join Virginia Mason Medical Center as our Section Head, Hospital Psychiatry! Lead our dynamic Consultation-Liaison (C-L) Psychiatry team, providing essential behavioral health expertise within a collaborative hospital setting.

Your Impact:

  • Manage complex patient needs, including delirium, mood, psychotic, anxiety, substance use, and somatic symptom disorders.
  • Work closely with patients under the Involuntary Treatment Act with Single Bed Certification.
  • Educate clinical teams and multiple residency programs on behavioral healthcare.
  • Partner across medical, surgical, emergency, and social work services in a highly collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Provide strategic leadership to Hospital Psychiatry, partnering with Department of Medicine and Hospital Care leaders to drive quality, strategy, and team development.

Work-Life Balance:

  • Weekday schedule (8 AM - 5 PM).
  • No overnight or weekend call responsibilities (covered by telepsychiatry).

Compensation range of $298,937 - $321,401 is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law. NOTE: Compensation for this position will also include a stipend.

Qualifications

Requirements include:

  • BE/BC Psychiatrist
  • Consultation-Liaison Fellowship training and C-L Board Certification preferred
  • Psychiatry leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA
  • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice

Compensation for this position will also include a stipend.

Pay Range
$143.72 - $154.52 /hour
