Connecticut ER RN Job Details

• Location: Manchester, CT 06040 (Connecticut healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Emergency Department (ED)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
• Shifts per week: 3
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Unit Details: 11 rooms plus 18 hallway beds for high census; average daily census of 130 visits

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Connecticut RN jobs)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Experience with general emergency department care for combined adult/pediatric populations
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience with triage and Meditech charting system preferred
• COVID-19 vaccine required (+ booster); medical/religious exemptions considered

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department
• Assess, triage, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of diagnoses, including chest pain, abdominal pain, orthopedic trauma, and more
• Rotate through triage assignments; may function as charge nurse when needed
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, initiate appropriate interventions
• Start and maintain intravenous lines and administer medications as ordered
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
