The Senior Director of Behavior at ARC & CARE will lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality care for animals, ensuring their medical and behavioral welfare. This role involves overseeing behavior specialists, developing research projects, and collaborating with various departments to enhance animal care practices.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for animals
Lead and facilitate research projects related to animal behavior
Ensure high quality, low stress patient and population care
Manage and coach a team of behavior experts
Foster relationships with medical and behavior team leaders
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Comfort with humane euthanasia decisions and procedures
Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
Master’s or PhD in animal behavior or related discipline or DVM degree
Ability to work additional hours and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing/overseeing research projects
