Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Day Shift) Position Summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking experienced Operating Room RNs to join their surgical team at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center. This is a blind offer opportunity—no interview required. Nurses must be skilled in both scrubbing and circulating across multiple service lines including cardiac, neuro, ortho trauma, robotics, and general surgery.

Key Requirements

• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of current OR experience
  • Scrub and circulate experience required
  • Strong background in trauma, neuro, ortho, abdominal cases
  • Level I trauma experience required
• Certifications:
  • Required: BLS (AHA)
• Licensure:
  • Iowa RN license or Compact license
• EMR: Epic
• Travel Experience: Not required
• Local Rate Adjustment: Candidates within 60 miles will be billed at 10% less

Unit Details

• Unit Name: Operating Room
• OR Suites: 16 total (12–14 in use daily)
• Average Caseload: 35–50 cases/day
• Turnover Expectation: <20 minutes
• Special Equipment:
  • 3 DaVinci robots
  • Stealth neuro navigation
  • Synthes/Stryker for ortho trauma
• Service Lines:
  • Cardiac/PV, Neuro, Ortho Trauma, Robotics, GYN, URO, General, Pediatrics, Transplants
  • Limited ENT and Plastics
• Weekend Call: Friday end-of-shift to Monday 6:30 AM
