Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team in providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. This role combines leadership with hands-on clinical responsibilities, making a significant impact on animal welfare and community health.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and protocols
Support a positive work culture through regular evaluations and coaching
Perform pre-surgery examinations and high-volume spay/neuter procedures
Provide preventive and basic care to patients in underserved areas
Schedule staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
