Key Responsibilities
Prepare patient drug orders and enter prescription orders into the computer
Select correct medication, strength, and dosage form
Prepare labels and affix auxiliary labels to medications
Count, measure, weigh, and pour medications
Document doses dispensed and file medication orders
Clean counters, medication drawers, carts, and equipment as needed
Assist pharmacists with audits
Process and restock medications utilizing automated dispensing systems
Perform medication inventory-related tasks
Compound and label extemporaneous liquid and solid products
Answer telephone and process requests
Participate in the training of new technicians
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Pharmacy Technician Certification
Registered as pharmacy technician with the State Board of Pharmacy Examiners
Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three months of hire
