Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions
  • Perform basic welding activities to effect repairs
  • Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets
  • Manage and assign all equipment maintenance
  • Oversee and implement maintenance related regulatory and environmental compliance
  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of safety within the maintenance department
  • Monitor training status of technicians and provide training as needed
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Partner with the Production Manager on budget management
  • Train and develop maintenance partners

Required Qualifications

  • High school and/or GED (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
  • Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment including wiring, electrical, mechanical, electronic components, pipe systems, and plumbing
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience in Hand & Power tools
  • Lockout / Tagout experience
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel
  • Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, maintenance management systems
