Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) – Behavioral Health (Days)
Location: Denton, TX
Employment Type: Contract (W2)
Duration: 26 Weeks
Shift: Mids | 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM| 5x8s | Every other weekend required

Overview:
We’re seeking compassionate and skilled LVNs/LPNs for a behavioral health role supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a structured, high-impact environment with a multidisciplinary care team.

Job Highlights:

• 40 hours/week with alternating shifts to meet staffing needs
• Orientation: 6 weeks (2 weeks classroom, 2 weeks nursing training, 2 weeks with preceptor)
• Nurses oriented to multiple units; must be comfortable floating
• Patient ratios: Typically 9–10 patients, adjusted based on acuity
• EMR: Iris/Cerner
• On-site parking available

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and perform nursing treatments
• Provide medication education and maintain accurate documentation
• Communicate clearly with peers, physicians, support staff, and residents
• Support individuals with intellectual disabilities, behavioral challenges, and complex medical needs
• Follow all relevant state regulations, standards, and protocols

Qualifications:

• Active Texas LVN/LPN license (Compact accepted)
• AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an LVN/LPN
• At least 1 year working with intellectually disabled or medically fragile populations
• Must pass drug screening, fingerprinting, and background checks
• Must comply with immunization requirements
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills

Preferred Experience:

• Prior work in long-term care or similar settings
• Experience with high-volume medication passes
• Ability to adapt quickly and float between units as needed

Important Notes:

• Orientation begins 10/1 and 10/16 (start date dependent on compliance clearance)
