Job Description

The Director of Operations will oversee the agency's real estate portfolio, ensuring efficient and safe property operations while managing teams and vendors. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on management to enhance service delivery and maintain high standards across all facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of agency properties across five NYC boroughs
  • Manage area managers and maintenance teams
  • Collaborate with MEP contractors for complex maintenance issues
  • Ensure compliance with life safety standards and local regulations
  • Develop performance metrics for operational effectiveness

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years as a tradesperson, preferably in mechanical, plumbing, or electrical fields
  • 5 years of managerial experience overseeing teams or operations
  • Knowledge of technical building systems
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hybrid role with field and office responsibilities
  • Familiarity with life safety system requirements and contract management
  • Ability to develop and analyze performance metrics
  • Prior experience managing large real estate portfolios
