Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator, where you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring high-quality care through accurate registration and compassionate service. You will play a crucial role in connecting patients with the resources they need while working in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of registration requirements across various departments
Ensure accurate and timely entry of demographic information into the ADT system
Verify patient identity to prevent duplication of medical record numbers
Review assigned accounts for accuracy and completeness of documentation
Meet CMS billing requirements and document completion for regulatory compliance
Collect and enter required demographic and financial data ensuring reimbursement accuracy
Obtain necessary patient signatures and provide informational handouts
Verify insurance benefits and document information in the ADT system
Set up payment plans for patients as needed
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of customer service experience
1+ years of experience with requesting and processing financial payments
Beginner level of proficiency working with computers/data entry
Ability to work from 6:00pm – 4:30am, Thursday - Sunday
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, or revenue cycle vendor
General understanding of insurance policies and procedures
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation
