Key Responsibilities
Evaluates patients based on departmental standards
Conducts and modifies evaluations based on patient symptoms and medical status
Treats patients using appropriate therapeutic techniques
Administers physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques
Utilizes techniques to normalize speech and language activity
Educates patients/families on home exercise programs
Determines when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment
Documents in accordance with insurance guidelines
Fosters communication with interdepartmental staff and referring physicians
Submits charges accurately and consistently
Adheres to professional code of ethics established by ASHA
Supervises at least one affiliated student per year
Attends continuing education courses
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
Current Connecticut license for Speech Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association
Preferred Qualifications
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic personal computer skills in Windows-based programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
Access to reliable transportation for travel between multiple work sites
