Key Responsibilities
Assess each call situation to determine best course of action and appropriate protocol.
Utilize medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, and CPR.
Provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
Lift and move patients as required.
Communicate with receiving facility for medical direction.
Act as team leader for scene and unit management.
Drive the ambulance and minimize response time.
Maintain required certifications and cleanliness of the unit.
Document activities regarding patient care and billing.
Report any incidents involving negative interactions.
Communicate effectively with patients and dispatcher.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
CA Drivers’ License
Ambulance Driver’s License
Medical Examiner’s Certificate
State of California PARAMEDIC license
CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY)
K4 report (Driving Record) from the DMV
ICS courses
IS-100 (ICS 100)
