Job Description
Join Cargill as a Refrigeration Service Technician and contribute to a sustainable future while ensuring the efficiency of ammonia refrigeration systems. This full-time role in Lake Odessa, MI, offers competitive pay and extensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain ammonia refrigeration system and chemical testing
Perform daily monitoring of the system
Optimize ammonia operations through Logix system
Oversee training for Maintenance techs
Write and review task procedures, PM’s and SOP’s
Support in PSM compliance audits
Maintain plant equipment and PIT license
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems
Promote quality and yield improvements
Complete scheduled daily work
Assist in wastewater operation when needed
Work on air compressor systems and HVAC equipment
Complete documentation for Work Orders and applicable PSM elements
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Understanding of Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration systems
Ammonia Refrigeration Systems Certification – Operator Level 1
Ability to wear a full face breathing respirator mask
Willing to be a part of the Hazmat team
At least 3 years industrial maintenance experience
Strong electrical & mechanical aptitude
Ability to read & interpret blueprints or engineering drawings
Ability to read & interpret detail blueprints, P&IDs, single-lines, ladder logic and wiring schematics
Strong personal safety philosophy
Ability to understand and learn Evaporative Condenser water chemistry
Able to work weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Computer literacy and eagerness to learn SAP/PPE systems
Maintenance experience in a food processing environment
Understanding of waste water system
HVAC System Experience
Boiler Experience
Compressed Air Systems Operating Experience
Effective use of test and calibration equipment
Ability to troubleshoot 480 VAC 3-phase motor controls and 120 VAC and 24VDC control circuits
