Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Greet and check in patients, verify insurance, and update medical records
Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals
Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies
Provide patients with pre-visit instructions and post-visit follow-up
Prepare patients for examinations and assist during procedures
Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EHR system
Handle phone calls, messages, and patient inquiries
Assist with billing, coding, and insurance verification as needed
Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
Intermediate level of computer proficiency
Ability to be trained as an M.A. or already holding a registration as a Medical Assistant
Ability to cover other offices if needed
Ability to be flexible with the work schedule
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience in a medical office position
Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
