Job Description

Join ECHN as a Speech Language Pathologist, where you'll provide essential treatments to patients, improve their communication abilities, and contribute to community education while working within a collaborative healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients based on departmental standards
  • Conducts and modifies evaluations based on patient symptoms and medical status
  • Treats patients with appropriate therapeutic techniques
  • Administers physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques
  • Utilizes techniques to normalize speech and language activity
  • Educates patients/families on home exercise programs
  • Documents in accordance with insurance guidelines
  • Communicates with referring physicians regarding patient care
  • Supervises at least one affiliated student per year
  • Participates in continuing education and departmental in-service

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
  • Current Connecticut license for Speech Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic personal computer skills in Windows programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Reliable transportation for travel between multiple work sites
