Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Palestine, Texas.

Position Summary

Medical-Surgical RNs provide direct and individualized nursing care based on scientific nursing principles. This role includes patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, medication administration, monitoring patient status, responding to emergencies, and patient/family education. Nurses in this unit provide bedside care for a wide range of medical and surgical patients, including pre- and post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with healthcare team members to assess and implement patient care plans.
• Administer and document prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide education on procedures, illness/injury management, and post-discharge care.
• Record vital signs, medical history, and clinical documentation accurately.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot specialized medical equipment.
• Perform bedside procedures (IV insertion, catheterization, wound care, dressings).
• Assist physicians during exams and treatments.
• Respond to emergencies and life-saving situations using established protocols.
• Participate in discharge planning.

Facility Requirements

• License: Active Texas RN or compact multistate license
• Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only).

• Experience: Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg nursing experience.

   

Additional Details

• Work Setting: Acute Care – Medical/Surgical Unit.

• Floating: May be required to float to other units.
