Key Responsibilities
Protect the U.S. by securing borders and stopping illegal activity
Question individuals and inspect documents and property
Apprehend undocumented individuals or smugglers using covert surveillance
Track and interpret signs of illegal entry
Perform various checks including farm, traffic, and building checks
Patrol using vehicles, horses, boats, ATVs, snowmobiles, or motorcycles
Required Qualifications
One year of specialized experience at GL-9 or GS-11 level
Experience in law enforcement including military police or local/state law enforcement
U.S. Citizenship
Residency in the U.S. for 3 of the last 5 years
Must be referred before turning 40 (with exceptions for federal or veteran law enforcement)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using firearms
Experience in report writing
Experience in gathering case evidence
Experience with surveillance and detection technology
