Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of registration requirements
Ensure complete and accurate entry of demographic information
Properly identify patients to avoid duplicate medical record numbers
Review assigned accounts for accuracy and required documentation
Meet CMS billing requirements and document compliance
Collect and enter required data into the ADT system
Verify information with patients at registration
Obtain required patient signatures
Scan required documents into appropriate systems
Identify and provide printed material hand-outs to patients
Follow downtime procedures for entering patient information
Follow EMTALA-compliant registration steps
Assess self-pay patients for presumptive eligibility
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department or related roles
1+ years of experience working in medical terminology
1+ years of experience in requesting and processing financial payments
Intermediate level of computer proficiency
Ability to work on-site at the Emergency Department
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with MS4 and Cerner
Knowledge of charity care programs and various government programs
Strong knowledge of both government and commercial insurances
Bilingual fluency
