Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator and make a difference in the lives of patients while supporting a dynamic healthcare team. You'll be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing patient registration, and assisting with administrative tasks to enhance care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Greets patients, family members, and guests
Assists patients with signing in and completing registration
Schedules appointments for new or established patients
Collects copays and obtains referrals
Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls
Enters and scans patient’s demographic and insurance information into Epic
Verifies insurance eligibility and informs patients of benefits
Coordinates follow-up care and schedules referral appointments
Sends patient records to primary care physician
Assists with other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
Intermediate level of computer proficiency
Ability to travel to other offices if needed for coverage
Ability to be cross trained as a medical assistant
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience in a medical front office position
Experience with an electronic health record (EPIC)
Knowledge of Medical terms
Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
Bi-Lingual English and Spanish
