Job Description
Join Backus Hospital as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Medical ICU, where you'll play a critical role in patient care, collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities
Care for patients in the Medical ICU (MICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Perform ICU procedures including central lines and arterial lines
Collaborate with hospitalist and intensivist for patient care
Conduct bedside rounds and respond to Rapid Response and CardioPulmonary Response codes
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program
Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / APRN in Connecticut
Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Board Certification APRN
Strong clinical acumen and communication skills with other providers, ancillary staff, patients, and families
Ability to adapt quickly and embrace a culture of change
Preferred Qualifications
Preferably one year of experience in inpatient or ICU medicine, but new graduates with relevant clinical experience may be considered
Intellectual maturity and team focus working with diverse team members
