As a Navy Chaplain, you'll provide spiritual support to Sailors and Marines, conducting ceremonies and offering guidance during both joyful and challenging times. You'll be part of a diverse community of faith leaders, making a significant impact on the lives of service members.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct worship services in various settings
Perform religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings, funeral services, and baptisms
Counsel individuals seeking guidance
Oversee religious education programs like Sunday school and youth groups
Visit and provide spiritual guidance to hospitalized personnel and their families
Train lay leaders for religious education programs
Promote attendance at religious services, retreats, and conferences
Advise leaders on morale, ethics, and spiritual well-being
Required Qualifications
U.S. citizen or equivalent
Graduate degree in theological or related studies from an accredited educational institution
Two years of full-time religious leadership experience
Ability to obtain an Ecclesiastical Endorsement from a religious faith organization registered with the Department of Defense
