Join ChanceLight as a Special Education Teacher and empower students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic educational setting. You will lead instructional processes for K-3 students, delivering personalized learning experiences and collaborating with families and staff to foster growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
Creating an inclusive, collaborative environment involving students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
Establishing a classroom climate built on mutual respect and clear expectations.
Implementing school-wide and classroom-specific behavior strategies.
Tracking and documenting student progress and maintaining accurate student files.
Delivering differentiated and targeted instruction.
Adapting curricular content and instructional approaches for diverse learning styles.
Utilizing varied instructional methods and resources.
Managing student caseload responsibilities, including developing IEPs.
Preparing daily lesson plans and organizing instructional materials.
Maintaining an organized and safe classroom environment.
Staying informed on current instructional practices and trends.
Responding to feedback from evaluations and pursuing professional growth.
Supporting the school community by performing additional duties.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field of study.
Meet all state teaching license and/or certification requirements.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a state special education credential.
Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction in a classroom setting.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance.
Prior experience with students with individualized education plans (IEPs).
Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans.
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students.
Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency.
Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology.
