Job Description

As a Lead in Meat, you will assist in supervising production, mentor employees, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Your role involves directing workflows, cutting meat to specifications, and maintaining inventory levels, all while fostering a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the short-term flow and organization of production area
  • Accurately cut to trim and yield specifications
  • Communicate discrepancies between cutting tickets and customer purchases
  • Label products and equipment according to regulations
  • Record data for cutting yield tests
  • Count product inventory levels
  • Ensure product specifications are met
  • Maintain work areas in compliance with U.S.D.A. guidelines
  • Assemble and tear down equipment
  • Clean and maintain assigned tools
  • Manage profitability by achieving product yields
  • Participate in safety program

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Prior experience with portion cutting meat
