Unit Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Nurse to join our dynamic team in a 64-bed Emergency Department. Our facility features 75 bays, including areas for holds and pediatrics. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and proficient in caring for critically ill patients, behavioral health patients, and hold patients, primarily focused on observation and acute inpatient admissions. Our department experiences an average of 150-190 visits daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Manage critically ill patients and those with behavioral health needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and team members.
  • Adhere to established protocols and standards of care.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and continuous education.

Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of recent Emergency Department experience.
    • Travel experience with at least one completed contract assignment preferred.
    • High volume/fast-paced experience is a plus.
  • Certifications/Licensure:

    • Current New Jersey License or Compact License.
    • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
    • Note: Pending certifications or those expiring within 30 days of submission will not be accepted.

Work Schedule:

  • RTO (Request Time Off): No more than 3 days accepted; no block scheduling or special requests.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) or three weekends per month, depending on departmental needs.
  • Holiday Requirement: None.

First Day Instructions? /Orientation:

Failure to complete the full orientation will result in immediate termination- once scheduled, candidate does not have the option of rescheduling any classes.

Candidate will receive an email directly from Inspira the Friday before the Monday start. The email will contain the following information;

  1. They will receive instructions for signing on to the Virtual Welcome meeting and online HealthStream Module from Human Resources sometime prior to 8:30 on Monday. Monday GEO will be Virtual from their own computer. The modules assigned must be completed by Monday or they will be removed from the orientation list.
  2. In person class schedule list - Typically Tues-Thurs- these classes are held in multiple locations. The location may not be listed in the original email, candidate is required to use Health Stream to determine class location day of. Please Note *The POCT class will required to attend and is not during orientation week.
  3. Unit based orientation schedule from manager.
  4. Badge ID Link - instructions on how to make an appointment t o receive their ID badge in person. Photo submissions are not permitted. Must be complete during orientation. The Badge is required for clock ins.
