Job Description

The Director of Operations will oversee facilities management across NYC, ensuring efficient property operations and maintenance. This role involves leading teams, coordinating with vendors, and enforcing safety compliance, while driving operational excellence through metrics and performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for agency properties across five NYC boroughs
  • Manage area managers and their teams of handymen
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing contractors
  • Ensure compliance with life safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Develop performance metrics and continuous improvement processes

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years working as a tradesperson, preferably in mechanical, plumbing, or electrical fields
  • 5 years of managerial experience overseeing teams or operations
  • Experience with technical building systems
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hybrid role with field and office responsibilities
  • Familiarity with life safety system requirements and contract management
  • Ability to develop and analyze performance metrics
  • Prior experience managing large real estate portfolios
