Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Hospital Medical Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in patient care and support healthcare providers. Your duties will range from patient intake and administering injections to assisting with check-in procedures, all in a collaborative environment focused on patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare and route lab specimens as required
Respond to patient questions in-office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with front desk check-in/check-out procedures
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate with doctors, patients, and co-workers clearly and concisely
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
