Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care:
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Develop individualized plans of care based on assessment data.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Documentation:
- Ensure accurate, succinct, and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Team Collaboration:
- Communicate important patient status updates to support continuity of care.
- Participate in team conferences and rehabilitation programs.
- Supervision & Training:
- Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and support complex clinical decision-making.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Promote patient and employee safety in all aspects of care.
- Follow hospital guidelines on personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
Required Qualifications
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required prior to the first shift for CIRH only.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience required.
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience is highly desired.
