About the Role Our client is seeking a CT Technologist to join our imaging team in North Charleston, SC. This role involves performing computerized tomographic procedures under the supervision of certified radiologists, supporting diagnostic interpretation and patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-acuity healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging procedures following established protocols and physician orders
- Ensure patient safety and comfort using age-appropriate care techniques
- Assist radiologists during procedures and support student technologist training
- Minimize repeat exams and manage imaging equipment efficiently
- Prepare patients for procedures and obtain informed consent when necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with clinical teams
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and ALARA principles
- Support departmental goals and uphold confidentiality and professionalism
- Collaborate with imaging and clerical staff to maintain workflow and records
Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, and patient handling
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and radiation
- Requires flexibility under stressful conditions and irregular hours
- May include weekend and holiday coverage based on department needs
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Registered in Radiologic Technology by ARRT or permanent certification from SCRQSA
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards
- Ability to operate standard office and imaging equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Allied Health program
- Completion of an accredited Computed Tomography program
- ARRT certification in CT
- Demonstrated ability to perform and teach CT exams
