Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join its team of diverse and qualified individuals. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability. Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts. Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design. Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model. Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need. Requires a bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience; or a PhD with 2 years (Sr. or 4 years with a PhD) Requires 2 years experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) OR complex aerospace/defense systems Requires 2 years experience in developing and executing Systems Engineering process governance documentation in a DoD Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase Requires 1 year experience in creating, updating, and maintaining Model-Based Systems Engineering products Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities. ~2+ years experience on large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production. ~ Experience on large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production. ~ Experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) OR complex aerospace/defense systems As a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman Defense Systems, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including: ~ Medical, Dental & Vision coverage ~Life Insurance ~ Employee Assistance Programs & Work/Life Solutions ~ The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
