Job Description

Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator, where you will play a crucial role in delivering excellent customer service and supporting a collaborative care team. This position focuses on patient interaction, administrative duties, and ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and direct them to appropriate departments
  • Answer phone lines, direct calls, and take messages as needed
  • Verify patient information and insurance eligibility; collect payments
  • Direct patients to complete forms and process patient-related paperwork
  • Inform the provider’s assistant of no-shows and cancellations
  • Make follow-up appointments for patients and call patients to confirm appointments
  • Reschedule appointments as appropriate
  • Perform various front-office duties in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with medical insurance
  • Prior experience with EMR computer applications
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures
