Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Sanford, NC. The Med Surg/Tele Nurse will care for patients with diverse medical needs while monitoring cardiac rhythms and telemetry readings. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and skilled in managing patients with both acute medical and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care including assessments, monitoring, and implementation of physician-ordered treatments.
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms via telemetry to detect and respond to changes.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately.
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes promptly in accordance with facility standards.
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Respond quickly to emergencies and provide interventions as needed.
Qualifications:
Current and valid Registered Nurse license in North Carolina (or compact license).
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred).
COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
Strong clinical judgment, monitoring, and communication skills.
Ability to manage diverse patient populations in a busy hospital environment.
