Job Description

Join Cooper University Health Care as an Authorization Specialist in a dynamic call center environment. Utilize your medical insurance knowledge and exceptional customer service skills to assist patients with their inquiries and ensure smooth appointment scheduling and authorization processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrange appointments for care
  • Ensure insurance requirements are met prior to service delivery
  • Calm and defuse irate callers and patients
  • Answer inquiries from patients, physicians, clients, or staff

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical insurance terminology
  • Computer skills for scheduling
  • Familiarity with general office procedures
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Verifying insurance eligibility
  • Explaining financial requirements to patients
  • Processing requests in a time-sensitive environment
  • Professionalism in stressful situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of medical/radiology terminology
  • Minimum 3 years medical office/authorization/insurance experience
  • Positive, upbeat disposition
  • Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Word/Excel and EMR
  • Good organizational skills
