Job Description
Sanofi seeks a motivated Associate Director of Crystallization to lead innovative projects in a global R&D environment. You will guide a team in developing high-quality crystallization processes and collaborate with international colleagues to drive pharmaceutical advancements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team to select API physical forms for new NCEs and assess manufacturability
Develop and mentor processes for consistent API quality using batch and continuous platforms
Facilitate interactions with project team members such as Chemists, Analysts, and Engineers
Lead transformation of development to more efficient Digital Development
Apply strong lab skills for process development across crystallization equipment
Perform physiochemical analysis to characterize products
Dedicate time for continuous improvement projects and academic collaborations
Lead Tech Transfer of crystallization to Pilot Plant and Manufacturing
Provide technical presentations and document work in Technical Reports
Establish and extend external networks for collaboration
Required Qualifications
PhD in Chemical Engineering, Solid State Chemistry, or related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience
Proven track record in developing and leading crystallization processes
Ability to work as part of a team
Change agent mentality with novel approaches to scientific questions
Ability to design and deliver lab experimental plans for crystallization process development
Familiar with PAT and common off-line analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, and NMR
Preferred Qualifications
Modeling experience using gPROMS, DynoChem, Matlab, Python or similar programming languages
Knowledge in Multivariate Analysis, chemometrics, and statistics
Experience in the development and scale-up of continuous processes
