Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. The RN provides direct care, supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees, while actively supporting patient safety initiatives in alignment with Select Medical’s core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission and develop individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to establish teaching needs and care goals.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
- Participate in rehabilitation programs, implementing and evaluating patient care using the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient/family teaching from admission onward.
- Ensure effective communication of patient status and changes to physicians, charge nurses, and team members.
- Provide direction, supervision, and delegation to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Promote and maintain patient and employee safety (safe patient handling, infection control, falls prevention).
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned.
- Contribute to positive team dynamics and unit efficiency.
- Manage supplies and resources in a cost-effective manner.
- Pursue professional growth through continuing education and training.
Requirements:
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience (highly desired).
Contract Details:
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Contract Length: 91 days (13 weeks) with possible extension.
