Job Description

Safeway is seeking reliable and customer-focused individuals to join as Temporary Grocery Store Associates for potential strike replacement roles. You will help maintain store operations and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers during the strike period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and assist with locating products
  • Operate cash registers and handle transactions
  • Bag groceries and assist with carry-outs
  • Address customer inquiries and escalate issues
  • Restock shelves and maintain product displays
  • Ensure items are properly labeled and priced
  • Rotate stock and remove expired items
  • Maintain cleanliness of aisles and common areas
  • Sanitize carts and checkout stations
  • Assist in various departments as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work various shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous retail or grocery experience
