Location: Chicago, IL
Shift: 5x8s | 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Pay Package:

• $65/Hr

Position Overview:

Join a high-acuity Level 1 Trauma Center as an experienced Operating Room RN . This role requires strong scrub and circulate skills , especially in trauma, ortho, vascular, and general surgeries. Ideal for RNs who thrive in a fast-paced OR environment with mandatory floating across units when needed.

Call Requirements:

• One 12-hour weekend call shift per month
  • Saturday or Sunday (7A–7P or 7P–7A)
• No weekday call

Weekend Requirement:

• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)

Time Off Policy:

• RTO Limit: 5 days max per contract
• No more than 2 consecutive days off
• No RTO on holidays, before/after holidays, or on weekends

Floating Requirements:

• Cook County is a MANDATORY FLOAT facility
• RNs must float within scope based on facility needs

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years recent acute care OR experience – Required
• Level 1 Trauma experience – Required
• Strong scrub and circulate skills – Required
• Specialty experience in:
  • Ortho / Ortho Trauma
  • Vascular
  • Urology
  • General Surgery

Preferred Experience:

• Neurosurgery (craniotomy/spine)
• Open Heart / Thoracic
• Ophthalmology
• ENT
• Bariatric / Gynecology

Licensure & Certifications:

• Active RN License – Required (No pending licenses accepted)
• BLS – Required

Additional Information:

• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue (provided by facility)
• Local Candidates: Accepted and preferred – must reside within 75 miles
