About the Role We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a 13-week contract in Neptune, NJ . The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient-centered oncology care, skilled in therapeutic nursing interventions, and able to support patients with complex hematology and oncology diagnoses, including leukemia and lymphoma.
Responsibilities - Evaluate patients and assist physicians with care delivery
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on each patient's needs
- Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care priorities
- Develop and coordinate individualized care plans
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care
- Document patient care based on standards, acuity, and clinical priorities
- Advocate for and support evidence-based care standards and innovations
- Provide patient-centered care aligned with professional nursing practice model
- Fulfill other duties as assigned
Schedule - Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Hours: 3x 12-hour shifts/week
- Weekends: Every other weekend required
- Holiday requirement: Yes – 2 winter holidays
- Call requirement: None
- Floating: Required
Qualifications Required
- ASN
- Current NJ RN license (or multi-state compact license)
- BLS – AHA
- 2+ years acute adult oncology experience (inpatient; leukemia & lymphoma)
- Experience with chemotherapy administration & central lines
- ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certificate
- ACLS
- Telemetry skills
Preferred
- BSN
- Telemetry certification
- ONS Chemo certification (if not already held)
Skills - Strong oncology and hematology clinical experience
- Ability to assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Commitment to evidence-based nursing practice
