Key Responsibilities
Complete and assure the accuracy of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for all residents
Determine Patient Driven Payment Method (PDPM) and associated expenses
Participate in admitting prospective residents and assessing nursing needs
Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores for potential risks
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for MDS completion
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for accurate data collection
Provide insights and ongoing education to facility staff and leaders
Required Qualifications
Valid state RN nursing license
Direct care in a long-term care setting
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree or certification
Experience as MDS Coordinator or Clinical Reimbursement Specialist
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the MDS
Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR), PDP, MDS 3.0, Medicaid and Medicare requirements
