Position Summary: Valley View Medical Center is seeking an experienced Labor RN for a daytime travel assignment. The nurse will provide direct care to patients during labor, supporting safe deliveries and postpartum recovery in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor, using approved equipment and techniques
- Administer medications including labor-inducing agents and pain management
- Assist in spontaneous vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families during labor and postpartum phases
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record system
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatric teams, and support staff
- Maintain compliance with infection control protocols, hospital standards, and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Arizona or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in labor and delivery
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NRP certification required
