Job Description

Join Whole Foods Market as a Warehouse Quality & Food Safety Team Leader, where you will lead a team to ensure high standards of food safety and quality in our metro food production facility. You will play a pivotal role in nurturing a culture of excellence while making a meaningful impact on community health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the FSQA team
  • Establish a culture prioritizing food safety and quality
  • Design and manage quality assurance programs
  • Develop and enforce quality standards for materials and products
  • Oversee environmental monitoring and compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSMA
  • Monitor and update Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures
  • Act as liaison for food safety and quality issues
  • Uphold standards set by Whole Foods Market, USDA, and FDA
  • Oversee Pest Control Program
  • Maintain documentation and records of quality assurance activities
  • Handle food safety crises and emergencies
  • Interview, select, train, and manage performance of Team Members
  • Collaborate on Team Member relations and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory rules and standards
  • Build a positive work environment

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in food science, microbiology, animal sciences, or a related field preferred OR equivalent combination of education and FSQA experience
  • 2+ years of FSQA facility experience within a food production environment
  • 12+ months of supervisory FSQA experience in the food manufacturing industry
  • Proven track record of success in an FSQA leadership role
  • Ability to develop, implement, and manage food safety and quality assurance programs
  • Experience in conducting internal and external audits
  • Proficiency in analyzing data from quality tests and inspections
  • Intermediate computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic understanding of ERP processes
  • Ability to work well with others and independently
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with stakeholders
  • Genuine passion for food and commitment to the company’s purpose

Preferred Qualifications

  • PCQI and HACCP certified
