Job Description

Join USAA as a Senior Auto Adjuster and play a vital role in empowering members with exceptional service. You'll manage complex auto claims, negotiate settlements, and ensure compliance with regulations while working in a flexible environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and determine coverage and liability for complex auto claims
  • Negotiate liability for comparative negligence
  • Identify coverage concerns and determine SIU referrals
  • Gather information from multiple parties to determine liability
  • Evaluate and negotiate settlement of physical damage claims
  • Resolve claims through proactive problem solving
  • Document thought process for claims adjustment
  • Collaborate with business partners for claims resolution
  • Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • 1 year of experience handling low to moderately complex auto non-injury liability claims
  • Experience determining auto liability coverage
  • Proficient knowledge of auto claims contract and applicable laws
  • Demonstrated negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven investigatory, analytical, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize, analyze, and effectively determine risk
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days

Preferred Qualifications

  • US military experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active Adjuster's License
  • 1-2 years recent multi-vehicle claims liability experience
  • Guidewire Claims Center experience
  • Dispute resolution experience
  • 1-2 years total loss handling experience
