Job Description

As a Lead in Meat, you will assist in supervising frontline staff, mentor employees, and ensure product quality meets established standards. Your role will involve managing inventory, cutting specifications, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations in a refrigerated processing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the short-term flow and organization of the production area
  • Cut to trim and yield specifications
  • Communicate discrepancies between cutting tickets and customer purchases
  • Label products and equipment to comply with regulations
  • Record data for cutting yield tests
  • Count product inventory levels
  • Ensure product specifications are met
  • Maintain work areas in compliance with U.S.D.A. guidelines
  • Assemble and tear down equipment
  • Clean, store, and maintain assigned tools
  • Manage profitability by achieving product yields
  • Participate in the safety program

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and conversions
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Prior experience with portion cutting meat
