Join ECHN as a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist, where you'll evaluate and treat patients to improve their communication abilities. Your expertise will play a vital role in enhancing patient care and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluates patients based on departmental standards
Conducts and modifies evaluations based on patient symptoms, activity level, and medical status
Treats patients with appropriate therapeutic techniques
Administers physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques
Utilizes effective techniques to assist in normalizing speech and language activity
Educates patients/families in home exercise programs and functional activities
Determines when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment and recommends discharge
Documents in accordance with insurance guidelines and department policies
Fosters communication with interdepartmental staff and referring physicians
Accurately fills out and submits charges daily
Adheres to the professional code of ethics established by ASHA
Supervises at least one affiliated student per year
Attends continuing education courses to improve treatment techniques
Participates in departmental or community in-service programs
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
Holds current Connecticut license for Speech Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association
Preferred Qualifications
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic personal computer skills in Windows-based programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
Access to reliable transportation for travel between multiple work sites
