Pay: 29 - 54/hr dependent upon certification and experience

Job Summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to join our Imaging Services team in American Fork. This role is responsible for performing high-quality CT scans while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate diagnostic imaging. You’ll work collaboratively with other technologists, radiologists, and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
  • Ensure proper patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for exams.
  • Perform CT exams according to department protocols; review images for quality and accuracy.
  • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising quality or care.
  • Assist and instruct students and other CT Technologists in protocols, positioning, and equipment use.
  • Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address concerns.
  • Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Operate CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality imaging.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient data, procedures, and any adverse reactions.
  • Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and equipment reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • ARRT(R) Radiography Certification/Registration
    • Relevant state licensure (as required)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARRT(CT) Computed Tomography Certification/Registration
  • Completion of controlled substance and moderate sedation modules (where applicable)
  • Facility-specific certifications (as required)
  • 1+ years of CT experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$35.25 - $54.39
