Job Description

As a Fleet Technician I at Sysco, you will assist experienced technicians in providing safe and reliable vehicles. This role involves learning preventive maintenance and repair techniques to maximize fleet efficiency and reduce downtime, all while under expert guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance
  • Conduct FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs
  • Address driver vehicle inspection report write-ups
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions to manufacturer specifications
  • Document all work performed on work orders
  • Learn and develop efficiency in Sysco computer programs

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current and valid driver's license (CDL Preferred)
  • Basic knowledge and skill of all vehicle systems and components
  • Basic knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on all equipment
  • Basic knowledge and skill in welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training 2-year school
  • Annual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Brake Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • ASE certifications – Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks
  • 609 HVAC Certification
  • Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEM’s and component manufacturers
