Job Description
Join Uncommon Schools as a Middle School History Teacher, where you'll empower students through engaging discourse and comprehensive curriculum. Collaborate with a dedicated team to foster academic and socio-emotional growth in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate student-led discourse and peer-to-peer debate
Teach an in-house curriculum prioritizing diverse histories
Build an inclusive and safe learning environment
Analyze and respond to trends in student work with principal/coach
Develop positive relationships with students and families
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
1-2 years of experience impacting K-12 students in urban schools (preferred)
Academic expertise in Education, History, Geography, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or Humanities
Commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with diverse histories and cultures
Interest in collaboration with internal and external partners
