Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality mammographic imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate will prioritize patient safety and comfort, maintain accurate records, and work collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms using digital mammography equipment.
- Ensure proper positioning and compression to obtain optimal image quality.
- Follow ACR, FDA, MQSA, and facility protocols for image acquisition and quality control.
- Explain procedures to patients clearly, ensuring patient understanding and comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all relevant information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Monitor equipment performance and perform routine quality assurance (QA) tests.
- Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs as necessary.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure cleanliness and readiness.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist with accreditation processes and participate in continuing education and training.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited radiologic technologist program.
- Certification/Licensure:
- ARRT (R) certification required.
- ARRT (M) certification preferred
- State licensure.
- Experience:
- 2+ year of mammography experience preferred (new grads may be considered).
- Other Requirements:
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
